Hi there!
I am looking for a Customer Development oriented lead developer to come on full time to my startup.
In way of a little background, I am the person who wrote up my ongoing experiences with Customer Development as a case study in using LOIs and screenshots for the Lean Startup Circle. It then popped up on Hacker News and then Eric Ries revisited it (I answered a few of the criticisms brought up by people on Hacker News). Venture Hacks and others were nice enough to note my write-up and comment on it as well.
Given that I feel Customer Development processes will be paramount in any future success this start-up may be so lucky as to enjoy, and I am looking for a Lead Developer, I thought I would reach out directly to some of the folks in that milieu. Hopefully, that person is you. If not, perhaps you know someone who might be a good fit.
Being a non-dogmatic believer in Customer Development, I am looking for someone who aside from being sound technically — actually “groks” Customer Development. That is to say, sees the tremendous value in “getting out of the building” and iterating on Customer Discovery, Customer Validation, Customer Creation and Company Building.
What do I have to offer you?
I have a strong idea (regarding re-segmenting an existing market/space) that has already been iterated upon a few times in the Customer Discovery and Customer Validation phases. There has been a tremendous amount of blood, sweat and tears already put in — that you will benefit from and leverage. I have clients waiting for the product.
I should also mention the start-up has been accepted to a local Southern California tech association. You know, one of those that helps sharpen your pitch and gets you in front of angels.
My goal is as follows:
Get revenue and cycle through as few iterations of Customer Validation as fast as possible — and then get some angel funding so we can hit the scale button.
So if you have the technical chops to develop the site and drive/passion to engage in some serious Customer Development, let’s start a conversation. Please drop me a line (hello AT eventsession) with your LinkedIn profile and whatever else you might have to add.
As this is an early stage start-up; compensation is equity only, with all the obligatory pros and cons – and your equity stake will reflect that.
NB: I am in Southern California, but telecommuting may be an option at the early stages.
